Just an 800-metre stroll from our campsite lies one of North Zealand's most beloved coastal treasures - a magnificent beach where velvety white sand stretches endlessly along the shoreline, offering abundant space for everyone to unwind. Spend your day relaxing to the rhythm of lapping waves, and when hunger strikes, stroll to the pretty harbour to treat yourself to a local ice cream to enjoy in idyllic surroundings.
Games and activities for the kids
The playground, complete with the ever-popular jumping pillows and a ball court, is just a short walk away. If the kids need a thrill, they can zip through the air on the zip wire or climb the climbing frames. When the day winds down, the cosy fire pit is a great place to get together to toast Danish twist bread and enjoy the organised family-friendly events.
Excursions in the great outdoors
Looking for an outdoor adventure? The campsite is surrounded by great hiking and cycling trails, or, for an adventure in the heights, head to ‘Til-tops Havreholm’ for some tree-top walking and zip-wire action. Just a short drive or bike ride to the west is the wonderful Rudolph Tegner Museum and Sculpture Park, which is a delightful cultural experience.
Castles and culture
When camping in Hornbæk, you’re just a short drive from Elsinore’s charming streets, perfect for a leisurely lunch or a great cup of coffee. Explore the legendary Kronborg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and meet Holger Danske in the castle’s shadowy casemates. Still craving castles and culture? For beautiful scenery and a fairytale setting, Fredensborg Castle by Esrum Lake is a must.

Ideally located for visiting Odense. Beautiful 5km cycle/footpath along the river. Quiet spot.
Great campsite, nice location; cycling along the Odense Å you are in the city centre in 20-25 minutes. Clean, quiet campsite with friendly staff.

Nice site, our pitch was a good size. The facilities block was good but not enough showers. Lovely walk along the river to Odense.
We were happy about their kind and helpful staff - not something you come across everywhere. The showers were nice and clean. The bus stop for the city centre is right in front of the camping site. However, careful about using local transportation - QR code payments do not often function and you have to pay cash in Danish crowns on the bus, which is rather expensive - 15 minutes for 5 people 95 DKK.
Conveniently located, popular,city site with excellent facilities for children's play. Owners went to great trouble to fit us in on a busy holiday weekend. Sanitary facilities were adequate but not exceptional and we used our own. Motorhome servicing was awkward to access but there were two separate areas. All facilities were clean and well maintained.Bread available at reception. Expensive compared to other European sites at £41 for 2 adults and campervan, without using electricity but this is the going rate for Denmark.
Lovely site with friendly staff. Facilities were fine, always clean but slightly let down by cold showers with no facility to adjust temperature, that was probably the main reason there was never a queue. Easy access to city centre particularly by bicycle.
This is the best camping site if you want to visit Odense. You can reach the most parts of Odense by bike or public transport within 10 km at max. The facilities and services at the camping site are great. If you don't have a camper, there are parts for tents or little cottages to rent. We are looking forward to our next visits.
