Tucked away in the heart of the countryside, this campsite strikes the perfect balance between relaxation and adventure. Spend the day unwinding by the refreshing pool, or if you're up for more action, try paddleboarding, fishing, cycling, or hiking through the stunning scenery. The campsite is just a short hike away from Emmedsbo Forest, where you might even catch a glimpse of roe deer or red deer if you're lucky.
Plenty of fun for the kids
The swimming pool is the main attraction along with the well-equipped playground with trampolines, jumping pillow, mooncar track, climbing towers and a zip wire. The campsite also has a ball court, beach volleyball court and mini golf, which is usually a hit with young and old alike. During the peak season, the campsite hosts fun activities for kids – especially around the cosy campfire, which is also a great spot for making family memories.
Ice cream and catch of the day at Bønnerup Harbour
Just a short trip from the campsite is the idyllic harbour in Bønnerup – the perfect spot to treat the whole family to giant ice cream cones. Planning fish for dinner? Swing by the local fishmonger for fresh catches and tasty delicacies straight from the sea.
Amusement parks and zoos
Some of Denmark’s best animal experiences are just around the corner when you camp in Gjerrild. Take a short drive to places like the Scandinavian Wildlife Park, Ree Park Safari, the Randers Regnskov Tropical Zoo, or the Kattegat Centre in Grenå, where you can see sharks, seals, and soak up the relaxed harbour vibe.
If it’s thrills you’re after, Djurs Sommerland is a must. With roller coasters, a water park, dinosaur land and loads more, it’s the perfect place for a full day of fun.

A lovely campsite that meets all expectations. Clean, well-maintained, with an outdoor swimming pool on site, short walk to a beautiful beach, and friendly owners. Simply wonderful.
Nice well maintained campsite. Shower, toilet and kitchen facilities are good and clean. Fresh and friendly staff at the reception.
We have been regulars over several seasons, we have always been treated well by the staff. Toilet and bathroom facilities appear clean and well maintained.
