Fun activities for the kids
Children can burn off energy in the playground, featuring two jumping pillows, a mooncar track, mini golf, and beach volleyball. When it’s time to cool down, the lovely jetty by the lake is perfect for a refreshing swim. As the day winds down, the cosy fire pit is a great place to gather, share stories and chill out.
The campsite also offers a variety of fun activities for all ages, including communal dinners, cardio bingo, candlestick making, layer cake races, and pancake baking.
Amazing experiences close by
If you're up for a day of exploring, the impressive limestone mine Mønsted Kalkgruber is only 15 minutes away, and is the world's largest limestone mine. Drive the other way to the World Map at Klejtrup, where children and adults alike can, literally, walk around the globe.
Day trips with a view
A bit further out, but still under an hour's drive, you’ll find Himmelbjerget near Silkeborg, offering stunning views from 147 metres above sea level. To the north lies the Limfjord, perfect for peaceful shoreline walks or a visit to the charming island of Fur.

If you're looking for a pitch for your own caravan or tent, Viborg campsite has plenty of pitches to choose from in beautiful surroundings. You can also rent a cosy budget cabin with its own kitchen and room for up to four people. The cabins are located in the centre of the campsite with easy access to all the campsite facilities and activities.

Lovely site by Søndersø. Many opportunities for active leisure, cultural attractions, etc. Neat and well-maintained and really good shelter. A few toilets and showers when the site is full. Close to the city and yet out in nature. Very good service and friendly staff at the top. It is VERY hot in the bathroom during hot periods and the shower water cannot be regulated in temperature, so it is not possible to have a cool shower when it is hot.

Especially clean camping site. I was in May, a bit early in the season and it was very quiet, although a lot of campers were here. Showers included and there was a fridge in the kitchen - super useful.
DCU Camping in Viborg is a fantastic spot, especially for nature lovers. Its location right next to the lake provides beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. Visiting at the end of March meant plenty of available spots to choose from, making it easy to find the perfect setup. The amenities are spotless and well-maintained, which adds to the overall comfort of the stay. The reception was warm and welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and pleasant. Overall, a great camping experience—highly recommended!
Good quality camping in a nice and quiet location. Had plenty of choice of sites and we could change it when we found that our selected site was muddy after a thunder storm. There is a games room and TV lounge in which we could wait since it was wet (as we have a small tent). Plenty of toilets and showers for all. No cost for the showers. Kitchen has plenty of gas hobs, oven and fridge.
If you plan a visit to Viborg, stay here. It is large but spacious campsite. Probably most Danish caravans (season places, but without the fences and gardens etc..). The showers and toilets are a bit outdated, but very clean. Very friendly owner, good kitchen, playground and a very pleasant half hour walk along the lake to Viborg. Perfect for a night or 2 if you are in the area. Bread available on site.
Very good place, Nice Scenery plus the city is just a bridge away, Just remember to bring insect repellent because theres f ton of em .
