I spent the night in a barrel. It was cozy. The sanitary facilities were a bit far away.
We were there in June 2026 and had booked a larger pitch. It was great. The sanitary facilities were very clean, even though the campsite was completely full. The only downside was that you sometimes had to carry fresh water quite a distance with a watering can. It's advisable to bring an extension cord for the electricity connection.
The camper park is right in front of the lake. Check-in & out process were very easy. Most impressive parts were staffs. They are very helpful and friendly. We had few problems with our Air mattress and asked them for help. They gave us repair kit first but it didn’t work, so later they lent us sleeping mattress from lost&found. That helped us a comfortable stay. The camping place was very organised. There are few restaurants in walking distance and mini-market for groceries and souvenirs. The water in this area was the best so far to swim.

Great place great location. The only issue I had was only one water tap up by reception or in the one toilet block for the entire site. Which in my opinion is not good enough as if there were a fire by the time you ran half a mile to fetch water the fire would already be to late.
Firstly, the area was great. First time staying around ammersee and I liked it. We hired electric bikes from the campsite and went all the way around, stopping for drinks/lunch at the various cafe etc. Can hire keel boats from near site and launch your own kayaks, SUP. Restaurant on site has fine, if limited menu. Staff and people in general extremely friendly. So why not 5 stars?. Only reason is we had a hardstanding pitch right near the lake, but it could have done with some serious weedkilling. Also facilities, including water are probably 200m away - too far. Why not lay a pipe down to that end of the site?
