Anden campingplads

Camping L'Hermitage de Chevigny

Description of the campsite

Ideel for gå- og rideture i skoven, mulighed for lystsejlads, vandskiløb. Der er mange slotte og museer i nærheden. Pladsen ligger i en park ved en søbred, og er meget rolig. Der tales dansk på pladsen. Reservering anbefales.

Stayed one night at this campsite during a motorcycle holiday through France. Had a wonderful stay! Beautiful location right by the lake, with a private jetty from where you can swim in the lake. The hostess truly did everything she could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Hopefully, I will return here someday.

A beautiful, peaceful campsite right on a lake where you can swim. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and park-like, with spacious pitches. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. This campsite is highly recommended in the region.

Wow! A superb campsite where nature is number one, although perhaps it's the very friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the managers that's number one, or maybe the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities, oh no, it's the direct access to the lake, no no, actually it's the friendly atmosphere with respect for everyone... in short, a huge favorite! ❤️

A perfect campsite. Quiet, simple, clean, with spacious pitches. Far from noisy entertainment and hectic campsites. The managers are incredibly attentive, and our canine friends are very welcome. For Achille and me, from today onward, this will be our only place to stay in Les Settons. See you very soon.

This is such a beautiful, serene place that we keep coming back to it. No other place offers this calmness and overwhelming experience of nature. The view of the lake and mountains directly from our tent, the birds, the trees, the crystal clear water in the lake, ...The campsite offers beautiful, large pitches and direct access to the water. We are very grateful that, after the previous owner who lovingly created this campsite passed away, the new owners continue to run the campsite in the same way: wih a warm welcome, and with love for nature. Thank you very much also for helping me when I was bitten by a dog (outside of the campsite) and arranging medical help. We look forward to another visit!

Fabulous camp site. No bright lights, loud music, loud people. Excellent plots, handy beach on a lake. Not a place for those who need entertaining, you make your own fun.

Probably the best kept campsite I have every stayed on. Lovely plots just a few feet from the Lakes edge. The campsite has its own Jetee to launch your SUP/kayak/swim from. Very nice facilities and a very quiet relaxed atmosphere. Sorry we could only stay one night.

Beautiful, spacious, quiet, clean campsite. A perfect place with generous shady pitches under mature trees; super clean toilets (with seats!) and piping hot water for the strong showers and well set-up dishwashing areas; bread service; private jetty on the lake for swimmers or boats and a little public beach 150m away. In a quiet corner of Lac des Settons, so you won't be troubled by noise of speedboats or jetskis. Parts of campsite feel like an arboretum, while this corner of the lake could be Canada or Finland! We'll certainly return. (They serve ice creams, coffees, etc., but nearest bars / restaurants are 5 mins drive away, and shops a little further).

After a search on Google Maps and subsequent read of the reviews, we ventured forth to the site without a reservation. We arrived before 2:00pm without knowing that this was the earliest check in. After apologising to the owner I was shown into the reception. We had planned to stay two nights but something about the place felt right and I booked for four nights without looking around. Both my wife and I and our puppy Cali were glad we did just that. The site is perfectly situated in a wooded area next to a lake. The site has its own pontoon for lake access and a communal ‘beach’ area 150m away. Perfect for swimming or other water borne activities. Very easy to launch canoes, paddle boards, dinghies and the like! You could not find one fault with this site or the owners. Both monsieur and madam were warm and welcoming. Always had time for a chat and we never failed to receive a ca va? or a bonjour every time we saw them. They were both sweet gentle souls and we miss them already! The facilities are more than adequate and you could order bread and pastries for the next day!! The little shop sold essentials (beer and wine) at very reasonable prices. No restaurant on site but the neighbouring campsite about fifteen minutes walk away using the lake path had a very nice little place that served the best chips I’ve had since my nanna cooked them forty years ago. Nicely brown with perfect seasoning!! Anyway back to the camp. The pitches are spacious, with and without shade, serviced with water and electricity (no drainage) Chemical disposal is in the toilet block. The wild life on the site was awesome. I ticked off quite a few birds in my Collins gem pocket bird book whilst sipping a few glasses or pinot noir. I saw a red squirrel, jay, black kite, numerous buzzards all in about ten minutes one day. Utter tranquility is the best way to describe this gem of a site. The patrons were mostly French and Dutch thank God with us seeing only one other Brit whilst there. If I wanted to see other English people I’d go to Spain…I hope you know what I mean 😉 So if you want a peaceful relaxing campsite situated next to a lake in rural France this is the place for you. Thanks for reading.
