Peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings
If you are looking for peace and quiet in a scenic area, then DCU-Camping Kulhuse at the tip of Hornsherred is the perfect choice. The Isefjord and Roskilde Fjord form the setting of the campsite, and children will love frolicking in the water and on the inviting sandy beach. The beach is also a favourite destination among anglers.
Plenty of marked forest trails
Near the campsite is Nordskoven, which is full of marked paths, and where you can find Denmark’s oldest oak tree, Kongeegen (the King Oak). It’s believed to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old! Maybe it sprouted in year 1 AD? A fascinating thought.
Visit a castle garden and see exciting art
Drive to the nearby Jægerspris Castle, where you can explore the castle park. Or visit J. F. Willumsen’s interesting and colourful art museum in Frederikssund.
Hundested – a local gem
In just five minutes by ferry, from Kulhuse to Sølager, you can be in Hundested, where you can enjoy the harbour and spend many pleasant hours.
Plenty of options for people and pets
DCU-Camping Kulhuse is located in a beautiful, hilly area with tall pine trees and a protected nature area, where you can go for a long walk with the family’s four- and two-legged members. The exciting, challenging playground has everything a playful child could wish for, including bouncy castles, climbing and swing sets, zipline and football field. If you’ve brought a tent with you, there are many lovely spots with good shelter so you can have the experience of being close to nature. The campfire site is in a secluded spot, where you can indulge in campfire bread and enjoy the pleasant evening atmosphere.
