Near the fjord and the border
It’s safe to say that the possibilities for an eventful holiday are almost endless at DCU-Camping Kollund, which is located just a few kilometres from Germany. Wonderful experiences await you on both the Danish and German sides of the border – and right outside your door. And you also have a stunning view of Flensborg Fjord from many of the campsite’s 170 units.

Take a walk on Gendarmstien
Lace up your hiking boots, put together a packed lunch and go for a hike on the historic Gendarmstien, which runs 84 kilometres from Padborg to Høruphav on the island of Als – and past DCU-Camping Kollund, too.

Visit a castle and try the local ‘coffee table’
Start your car or hop on a bike for the journey of approx. 15 km north to Gråsten Castle, where you can go for a walk in the park and build up an appetite for the historical, local speciality ‘coffee table’, consisting in 21 different kinds of local cakes and cookies, at Den Gamle Kro – just remember to book your ticket in good time. It’s very popular.

Experience Dybbøl Mill and Dybbøl Banke
It’s almost obligatory to drive to Dybbøl Mill near Sønderborg and buy a ticket to Historiecenter Dybbøl Banke, where, during the high season, there are soldiers, guided tours, the opportunity to make pancakes over an open fire and much more. Take a walk around the 10 ramparts among the memories of the wars of 1848 and 1864.

Go on an excursion to Als
Or take a day trip to the Universe Science Park on Als – or spend a few pleasant hours strolling around Sønderborg!

Go across the border
Just on the other side of the border are the picturesque and quaint Flensborg, Glücksburg Castle and Schleswig, with cultural experiences such as Gottorf Castle, Hedeby Viking Museum and the Danevirke fortifications.

Relax at the campsite
DCU-Camping Kollund is the ideal choice for those who want to relax in beautiful surroundings after getting home from a day’s adventure. If you’re not staying in your own caravan or tent, you can rent one of the well-equipped cabins.
