Enjoy the beach, physical activities and cultural experiences
DCU-Camping Hornbæk is a campsite with many options: Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday with lots of ice cream and fun at the campsite, a weekend full of cultural experiences, or an active holiday, the possibilities for all these are right here.
Popular beach, beautiful harbour and magnificent art
Just 800 metres away is one of North Zealand’s most coveted beaches, with soft white sand and plenty of space. You can also go for a walk to the inviting marina, buy an ice cream and enjoy watching the world go by. A short drive or bike ride to the west you’ll find the fascinating Rudolph Tegner Museum and Statue Park, which is located in ‘Rusland’, a fairytale-like heathland area, and which is open and freely accessible all year round.
Visit the beautiful castles
A little further afield are some of the many castles in the area: Helsingør offers charming streets and delightful restaurants and cafés for lunch, as well as Kronborg Castle, which has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Is Holger Danske still asleep, sitting in the basement? At Esrum Lake you’ll find Fredensborg Castle, with its beautiful gardens.
Be active outdoors
If you feel the need to get moving, the area offers plenty of good hiking and bike trails – and if you’re aiming for the heights, you can get that in the trees and zipline at ‘Til-tops Havreholm’.
Lots of play and fun for children and adults
There’s lots of fun to be had at DCU-Camping Hornbæk, and the campsite has lots of shady and open spaces. The playground, with the always-popular bouncy castles and the football pitch, are both within easy reach. Children can also make use of the aerial walkways and climbing frames. End a wonderful day at the campfire, where campfire bread is baked regularly and group events are held.
Rent a cabin or a comfort pitch
You can rent a cabin, or – as a new addition this year – one of the lovely comfort pitches.
