Stay right by the lake and close to Holstebro
DCU-Camping Holstebro Sø is located right on the scenic lake, which you can swim in and kayak on. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area, and you can walk directly from the campsite to central Holstebro via a two-kilometre-long path.
Experience unique art in the city
One of the highlights of Holstebro’s pedestrian street is the famous Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti’s sculpture ‘Woman with Chariot’, which spends its nights underground because it is valued at a billion Danish kroner and the city fears – perhaps rightly – that it may be stolen. The sculpture was purchased for a ‘measly’ DKK 210,000 in 1965.
Take a trip to the beach
If the family wants a day trip, the North Sea is only a half-hour drive away. Enjoy the coast in the unusually hilly and green surroundings near Fjaltring and Ferring, where the distinctive red Bovbjerg Fyr lighthouse stands proud.
Enjoy great coffee and ice cream at the campsite
At DCU-Camping Holstebro Sø you can buy Danish-made organic ice cream, and enjoy a cup of freshly roasted coffee with home-baked goodies and other delicacies in the cosy café. During the summertime, the campsite offers fun activities for the kids, and along with the big bouncy castle, the small pool is a natural gathering spot.
Enjoy an active holiday
DCU-Camping Holstebro Sø has arrangements with a large number of local organisations so you can go cycling, surfing and running. If you like an active holiday with your family with the opportunity to participate in lots of social activities, then DCU-Camping Holstebro Sø is the right choice for you.
