Do you prefer to give your family a unique experience in one of our lovely cabins, or do you find traditional camping or sleeping in a tent to be more up your alley? Nevertheless, we are happy to help.
Green camping vacation in Copenhagen
At DCU-Copenhagen Camp, it is possible to combine comfort and great experiences. We offer a mix of active vacation and relaxation and you are free to plan according to the weather. Do you want to enjoy your time at the campsite, or would you rather be out for a walk in the nearby forest area or see Copenhagen and everything it has to offer? The choice is yours. Despite being fairly close to the city, our campsite is surrounded by nature. Right behind the campsite, you will find Vestvolden, the old entrance gate to Copenhagen. The whole area around Vestvolden is rich in nature and makes for the ideal stroll. If you require internet during your stay, we offer wifi at a reasonable price. Should you arrive late at night when the reception is closed, we also have a “quick-stop” area where you can stay overnight.
DCU-Copenhagen Camp welcomes you to a big city holiday and also to Copenhagen’s old fortifications. The Western Ramparts (Vestvolden) that were formerly the gates to Copenhagen are located directly behind our campsite with a large recreational area abounding in scenic experiences, exercise tracks, cycle tracks etc. Located within just 8 km of Copenhagen, our site provides the perfect base for excursions and experiences. It is extremely easy to reach central Copenhagen, whether you prefer your own car, a bicycle or - preferably - use public transport where you have the choice of buses and trains, departing approximately every 10 minutes. Our staff will be pleased to assist you with useful tips on trains and buses to take you to the attractions you want to visit. There are two service buildings on the site, with free hot water and all the modern facilities required on a 3-star campsite. There is also a shop on the site, selling basic groceries and fresh breakfast bread in the morning (weeks 12-42). In addition, the site offers one of Denmark’s largest cabin sections with no less than 45 cabins to rent, most of them with both shower and toilet. Facilities for children include several recreational areas with bouncing cushion, multifield, chess etc.
Going urban camping in Copenhagen?
DCU-Copenhagen Camp is a good starting point for a trip to Copenhagen - experience for example Tivoli Gardens, Round Tower, Strøget, The Little Mermaid and interesting museums. The campsite is situated near Vestvolden, where you can walk or bicycle in the scenic surroundings. Close to the campsite is Vestbadet, a swimming facility. There is only approx. 600 m to Brøndbyøster Station, where a commuter train in only 20 minutes, takes you to Copenhagen Central Station from which you can easily get on around Copenhagen. S-trains runs daily every 10 minutes. You can also choose to take the bike. There are 8 km to the centre with bicycle paths throughout.
